| The car makes an unusual "cricket" chirp while the car is driven at a maintained speed. During hard acceleration the sound is not made. When I simply hold the pedal constant to maintain my speed it is most prominent. If I slowly press the pedal, then release, then press, then release, I can hear the sound build, then quit, then build, then quit. It doesn't seem to have affected performance at all, but it is quite annoying.
Anyone else had similar problems? Since this happens both when I press the pedal or when I maintain speed with cruise control, I assume it has something to do with the fuel line. Given the high pitch, I would guess there was something squeaking it's way out of a tight crevice... a high pressure fume escaping a crack or such. Any ideas?
