Coolant Smell 330i

I might just be overparanoid here. But I think I am smelling a coolant smell when I put my nose right on the cowl of the hood or open it up after driving. The temperature gauge stays pretty much in the middle, and theres no bubbling or anything that I can see in the engine compartment or any smoke or other unusual behavior. Can anyone clue me on what to look for. This is after regular to spirited driving.

2001 330i, 32K miles.

do you see any greyish looking material anywhere under the hood? you shouldnt smell any colant unless you just had work done recently and there is excess burning off.

No, I dont recall seeing any, in fact I just purchased her and the engine was actually clean so it wouldnt surprise me that I didnt see it. Honestly I think im probably just paranoid but ill look closer tomorrow.
