after replacing some cooling parts on the car Ii am working on refilling the coolant. I have not replace as much in as was taken out but my level float is reaing like I am full. I have the heat up with low fan but the level never went own. Help. TIA
OK. Roe up the block an came back. Coolant level has roppe. Fille again (still not enough Roe up the block again an again lots of steam. Waiting to cool own to check level again.
The easiest way I have found to fill the cooling system quickly is to remove the top radiator hose (from the engine endof the hose if possible), pour coolan into the hose until coolan appears at the engine hose connection point. Reconnect the hose and top up the expansion tank. If you can rais the front of the car on ramps or an inclined driveway it will help bleed the air from the rear of the engine. go fo a drive and then let it all cool down again and check the expansion tank level.
Obviously the filling process must be done on a cold engine. Use your normal safety precautions.
