Compatible Code reader advice

Hi all,

I have a 57 plate 320i Coupe M Sport BMW and i just wanted to check what a compatible code reader would be.

I've looked at Peake products, specifically [Peake R5/FCX_3-16: 2000 to 2007] but still not sure.

I previously bought a generic OBII reader which was meant to be compatable but even though showed three faults it couldn't return the fault code, it just read N/A. I suspect it wasn't compatable!

Anyway i don't want to spend more cash on something that doesn't work, so would be really greatful if anyone has any idea's.

I know i could just take it to the garage, but forewarned is forearmed. i just dont trust dealerships.

All the best
