ctm78 is an unknown quantity at this point
Hi all.

I just had some final repairs done on my '01 330 convertible before the warranty ends, and the dealership reported that my clutch is 70 percent worn.

Two questions:
1. What sort of life have people gotten out of a clutch? It only has 50K miles, I'm the second owner-- purchased at 40K miles. I know driving habits vary, along with city vs. highway. . .but that seems to be wearing awfully fast. (My SHO has over 100K on the current clutch.)

2. If anyone has had a stealership replace the clutch, what is the approximate cost? (I know this will vary a lot too, but I wanted to get a rough idea.)

Thanks!

i do not knwo what "70% worn" means, plate thickness?? in my experiownce it is worn when it starts sliding.

should they not take care of it under the 4 year wear warranty??

if you have to pay: wait until it slides. you lose nothing by it, there is no benefit to prevenitve replacement whatsoever (unless warranty scenario applies). expect total costs about $700 minimum.
