I have a 01,320i manual . get a clunking noise sometimes when changing gears....heard it could be the mounts on the gearbox or universal joints.... any ideas.. doesn't affect the drivability or performance yet .. does anyone have any ideas on the urgency that this should be remedied..thanks
Check the rear differential isolator mount on th aft side of the diff...mine wore out and I got a clunk going into reverse, or anytime torque was removed and reapplied to the drivetrain.
