Climate control fan problem

I have a problem on my 323i E46.

The fan blows intermittently. Having read previous posts, I am sure that it is the final stage (resistor) that is at fault.

Does anyone have an idiots instruction guide to replacing the part, and also any ideas on a good source for the part. The climate control is the digitally controlled one.

it is usually the resistor that needs replacing..

Just so everyone knows, the blower resistor for an E46 is on the passenger side of the center console almost against the firewall. You must remove the right footwell air duct and an air distribution motor to get to the resistor pack for replacement.
