clicking noise while driving

Hey everyone, I got a 2001 330xi and recently have noticed a clicking noise while i drive. the best way to explain the noise is it sounds like the wheel spinning on the show wheel of fortune. the sound is coming from the rear the clicking does get faster as i drive faster. i don't know if it is the really cold weather we having been having playing tricks on me or if it could be a bearing or cv joint. Sux cuz i was just looking to buy some angel eyes and now I might have to put that on hold. Oh if only good ole' George W would give us a bigger rebate check!!

one more thing, it is not very loud. only really notice when it is quiet in the car. other cars i have had, when the wheel bearing goes out it is rather loud. but on the other hand, i have heard that one way to tell if it is a wheel bearing is to corner real hard (to put some force on it) and if the sound goes away it is the bearing, which on my car it does go away if i make a hard left.

Check both rear tires for any larger stone or other foreign object sitting in betwen tread on your rubbers ,that is, what most likely makes this sound.
