Cigarette Lighter / Sleep Mode

Hi,

I am a Newbie to this forum and a new BMW owner.

I have a 2004 325i Sedan. I have an iPod charger plugged into the cigarette lighter socket in the dash. I noticed that when I turn the car off and remove the key the LED on the iPod charger stays on...even if I disconnect the iPod. I have a few questions:

1) Will the ipod charger drain my cars battery?

2) Will the cars cigarette lighter power be switched off when the car goes into "sleep mode"?

3) How long does it take for the car to go into "sleep mode"?

Thanks
