I'm new on this forum. Alessandro, 25 years old, spent most of my life in Italy and now living in Panama - Rep. of Panama.
A friend of mine asked me information on modifying his 330d (204 hp - my 2003). Digitaltuning-CH is well known in Europe for offering quality chip upgrades. On that specific car they offer:
238hp (34hp increase)
388 lb/ft (86 lb/fr increase).
As the car is equipped with Steptronic 5 speed transmission, I'm wondering if such torque increase might damage the transmission. Does anyone have any clue?
The older version of the Bmw 740d had a 5 speed transmission, and the engine delivered 412 lb/ft of torque and 245hp. Any idea if the transmission is the same or if there are some differences?
Does anyone know where I can find specific information on the tramission of the vehicle?
