Cheaper Alternative to Dealer Oil Change?

I own a 2002 325Ci and my maintenance warranty has expired. I have less than 1000 miles before I need to bring my car in for an oil change.

Is there a cheaper alternative to bringing in my car to the dealership? Also, what is the normal price I would be paying if I bring it into the dealership?

Thanks,
skyeblue818

$100 at the dealership. But hey, at least it comes with a free carwash, right?!?

It'll cost you $50 in parts (oil and filter) to DIY. My local mechanic usually charged around $70.

I called my dealership and they charge $175 (Santa Ana, CA).

I guess if they throw in a car wash it's worth it huh?

Try to find a local mechanic who specializes on BMWs, or foreign/European cars in general. You can get quality service done for a fraction of the price.

My dealership charges $125 (the car wash is so not worth it), but I do my oil services myself, which costs me about $40 in parts.
