Hi EveryOne,
I have a 99 323i. The 6 CD player in the trunk skips pretty badly when I hit even a small bump, like the marker that divides lanes, or small irregularities on the road.
Also the CD player takes up space in the middle top of the trunk, rendering it useless for all except the smallest of my luggage.
Any suggestions on moving it else where, like under the passenger seat or the arm rest?
Are you sure that the mount setting on the changer (if there is one) is set properly? That's what happened with mine. The dealership installed the changer horizontally in the trunk but the changer was set for vertical mount. On the changer I have (I don't recall which brand, Alpine maybe), the setting is controlled by this thing on the side of the unit that looks like a tiny metal post which slides within a quarter-circle groove. It was positioned at one end and I just had to slide it to the other end. I did have to unmount the unit in order to get access to it though. Hope this helps.
