CD player skips when i hit small bumps. I am playing a CD-R (burnt cd) and it is very noticable sometimes. Its a long time since I played an original CD so I dunno if that skips or not!
Any idea why ? I took it to the dealer the last time and found nothing wrong with the unit (did not skip for him)
Does the business CD skip with CD-r's (sometimes) ?
Definitely try a store bought cd to see if this makes a difference. If it doesnt skip with a store bought cd then try burning the cd's at a slower speed, sometimes this helps or try burning to a different media.
Good Luck,
DT

hmmm, burning Cds at another speed ? well i have started using iTunes to burn CD's and maybe thats what is causing this "incompatibility". Gota try someother program and see if it skips
I noticed that the player skips like crazy (factory or CD-r) when its v v cold. Its cold -15 deg F today and skipping was bad. After car warmed up skipping was almost non-existant. Any thoughts ?
Silicon dampeners are used in most CD players. As the dampener gets colder more force is required to move it. So when it is cold minor shocks cannot be deadened so the eye does not track the disk as it should.
