Well it is officially mine, 1999 323i, black w/ tan interior....sweet...anyways my first matter of business is installing a head unit (cd player) the car came with a tape deck (bmw business), I had heard a rumor that an aftermarket headunit cannot be installed with out heavy modification the the system...is all this true? Cause I cant go long with out my tunes....

i havent heard that, but if its true you may better off getting the 6-cd changer. your car is pre-wired and the changers run you about $300

i'd go with MrM3. get the CD changer. easy installation since the car's already pre-wired and ability to listen to 6 CD's versus 1.

I'm gonna have to test this 'heavy modification' theory one of these days. I'm sure theat ther eis an easy way to splice into the existing wiring to take full advantage of the existing amp and speakers. Once that's done adding an aftermarket amp to use teh existing wiring shuld be childs play.

Godd job with the CD Changer though. That sure makes it much easier.
