car accident

My friend just wrecked his twin turbo supra, He's 17 years old and took a turn way to fast, jump some curbs and slammed into a pole. His car is fu*ked up in the front really badly and I told him insurance knows he was being irresponsible and he wouldn't t listen to me. Has anyone here wrecked a car and was obviously being stupid and was still covered? I said they wouldn't really listen to what a 17 year old has to say either.

Depending on the plan he's got - they'll pay for the repairs. But his insurance costs will sky-rocket. Young drivers (under 25), especially driving any kind of expensive car or sporty car - is high enough. Add accidents and/or tickets to that and you've got yourself nearly a car payment every month in insurance costs.

Heck - I had a friend in high school fall asleep twice while driving a car and wreck the things. Insurance covered the cost of both - but then dropped him as a driver - so he had to go get high-risk insurance - and that probably didn't feel too good.

Yeap, a few years ago my friend was racing his Fiero GT ( 2 seater, rare car these days) going down the hill with a guy on a motorcycle... Anyway, he lost control and did a 180 going down the hill and ended up hugging a pole, I was the passanger... The guy in the bike kept going, didn't even call an ambulance. We were so lucky not to get hurt even the cops and paramedics were surprised. It was my wake up call not to f-around... His insurance went up for the next 5 years... Hope your friend learned his lesson... I did and I wasn't even driving that day!!
P.S I hope he didn't get hurt, you can always get another car, just don't be dumb.
