Can you program your key without taking it in to the dealership?

I recently purchased a pre-owned 2004 325ci. It came with a full manual, but i don't see instructions on how to program your key to run the daytime running lights or to pre set the climate control. BMW wants $50 to $60 dollars to do this. Can this be done without BMW. If so, can someone e-mail me detailed instructions to larrylegend27@aol.com

Thanks,
Larry.

I have done some at work, don't think it can be done without using a program like progman, or DIS.

Thanks for your input. I'll probably have to take it into BMW to get it done. I was quoted $50.00 to program my key. I hope it's $50.00 for all the features I want programed and not $50.00 per feature.

Hey Guys, you can program your key without taking it to the dealer as long as you dont have Comfort Access. It's easy. Please email me for instructions on how to do it. pcasey@bmwpartssource.com
