Can you program your key without taking it in to the dealership?

I recently purchased a pre-owned 2004 325ci. It came with a full manual, but i don't see instructions on how to program your key to run the daytime running lights or to pre set the climate control. BMW wants $50 to $60 dollars to do this. Can this be done without BMW. If so, can someone e-mail me detailed instructions to larrylegend27@aol.com

I have done some at work, don't think it can be done without using a program like progman, or DIS.

Thanks for your input. I'll probably have to take it into BMW to get it done. I was quoted $50.00 to program my key. I hope it's $50.00 for all the features I want programed and not $50.00 per feature.
