Buying Used 323..advice?

Hi guys!

I'm looking into buying a used '03 325i w/ 36k miles on it w/ auto transmission. No accidents, scheduled maintance, the car looks awesome! The previous owner really took care of it..aside from the cigarette smoke smell, and minor scrathes at the front from hitting the curb while parking (ouch), the car is perfect. It came w/ everything but the seat warmers (h-k sound system, moonroof, wood panels, navigation/computer, etc).

36k miles in 1 1/2 years is somewhat much..I'm worried about future costs for maintenance and its long-term reliability. What kind of long-term maintence is required for a 323i??

How much do you think the car is worth? The dealer quoted ~23k for a trade-in...Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Are you sure its 323i 2003 model? because they discontinued the 323 way back in 2001, and replaced it with the 325i.

Has to be an 2000 323 or a 2003 325.

oops..you're right..i made a mistake..it's a 2003 325i

Is it an xi? .........even so 22K for the car if its well maintained is a steal.........take it..........

23k for my 2001 325ci was a steal in my area! 22k for an 03 is a hell of a steal! Make sure you carfax the car first.

But I'm worried about the mileage (36k in 1 1/2 years!) and its maintenance cost in the future. What should I expect once the warranty ends? Especially for an auto transmission.

It is not a CPO car, is it?

Spend another $1500 to a $2000 on extended warranty and sleep well.
