buying a 2001 BMW 330ci convertible?

hi, i'm looking at at 2001 BMW 330CI Convertible going for $8K. is that worth it? the car has 120,000 miles on it, and while i haven't seen it yet, the owner claims it is in good condition.

more importantly, what would be the cost to own the car? i'm concerned about maintenance costs and repair costs - i'm a college student and the last thing i want is to have a financial burden and watch my friends travel while i work to upkeep the car.

how best can i upkeep the car without sending it to a BMW dealership? could i buy parts online and bring them to a non-specialized dealer?

IMO thats a bargin, but i am in Australia where everything is over priced.

I have a convertible, just make sure the actual top is working, because its one of those things you cant really fix yourself hence you will need to take it in to the workshop (most defiantly a bmw specialist) that will charge you an arm and a leg to fix.

Otherwise go for it.
