Bmw Service Time

Hi All -

I bought BMW 325i (2001 Year) from a private Dealer here in california a few months ago.It has 34,100 Miles on it now. Wondering when i need to service the car!! When i turn the key(before i start the engine) it says 'Service engine soon' but after i start the ignition 'Service Engine soon' goes away.Wondering whether that means it's time to go to the BMW dealer for servicing??

Also i do not have the coupons for the service.The dealer from where i brought did not provide them with car. Does BMW Servicing is same as other cars Models where the first 3 service's are done free of cost at their Dealer's place?

just get it serviced!!!

it will look good in the service book

at the very least
change your oil!!!!

For the E46, the first couple of service intervals go as so:

15K - oil change
30K - Inspection I
45K - oil change
60K - Inspection II

All scheduled services up to 36K miles are free from the dealer, at least for your 2001 (newer models get free service up to 50K miles). I'd call your local BMW dealer and have then run the VIN - they should be able to tell you what services have been done, assuming the previous owner(s) had the work done at a BMW dealer. They'd have been a fool not too since it's free. Sounds like you might be way overdue for your inspection I?
