Took my car to the dealer for a couple of things: 1)Car pulled to left or right over uneven road. 2)When I stop and press the clutch, RPMs drop to 600 and the car mildly vibrates.
They said that they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Is this BS? Should I take it to another dealer just to be sure?
Also, do I have to pay the preliminary estimate of $112? Service rep. said that I would have to pay it if they diagnosed the car and found out that the problem wasn't a result of BMW. TIA

well to me it sounds like #1 is only because of uneven road but #2 might be a mechanical problem , something that a code will not come up on. to be honest they might have been right, but get either tech or extech to give their opinion

the first one might even be control arms or bushings which are common on our cars to go out, i know my steering is pretty sloppy, im going have this investigated when i come back from texas.

I don't know about the car pulling, but my car does the RPM drop thing sometimes. I'll stop at a light and throw in the clutch, and just for a second the idle will drop to 500 RPM or so and the car will vibrate. Doesn't seem to last long tho, and then it just idles normally so I haven't asked the dealer if anything was wrong. I have a 2004 330XI with the 6 speed manual and under 2000 miles. It's prolly just the engine control program being sloppy...but if it's something wrong i'd like to know too!=)

control arm bushings are a frequent problem. maybe you need an alignment??

the RPM thingy i have no idea. never experienced that.

if your car is under warranty, you wont need to pay anything
