Bmw E46 Body Kits: Fiberglass Or Poly Urethane??

Hi everyone,

I have a '01 330ci and I'm trying to decide ghead which is better to get as a whole Front Bumper Body Kit in regards to finished look, durability, weight, etc. Anyone that can give me some advice on the +'s/-'s on Fiberglass vs. Polyurethane kits would be VERY APPRECIATED!!!

Hi ! I have been working on bumpers for past 15 years , in my personal opinion polyurethane is better ,because is resistent for any damage ( is more flexible with any small crashes ), but is havyier than fiber glass. Fiber glass is light , but very fragile-any hit bumper to bumper and splits like a beer bottle.Polyurethane is easier for any repair, after painting with an original coating , there is no diffrence in apperance betwen poly and fiberglass, so choice is yours. fiberglass also sags over time. it cracks easier too

It's worth paying as much as double for polyuro. Reason being, fiberglass breaks so easy, and with polyuro, you can fold it to fit it into the package. Really, you'll pay a lot more in repairs if you go fiberglass
