BMW E46 (320) Saloon problem

Hi,
I got BMW 320 DSE (e46 V Reg (2000)) and i have a problem with my dashboard. There is a sign which indicates if the door is open or not (the bmw body sign) so if the left door is open, the sign comes on and the door sign opens, when you close it the sign goes off. Ok, the problem is; on the front of that BMW body sign, there is a red light, is same as the fog light sign.

I dont know how to switch it off but seems like there is a fault with samewhere.

Have you checked all of you lights, headlights, foglights, etc. Need to make sure that you visually inspect each bulb for any sign that they may be bad, other than the obviuos of the black look and the filament being broke. I had a bulb in my brake lighjts that was corroded on th posts that hold the filament and it made my rear light out warning lighgt come on even though the light actually worked. I changed it and the light went off. HYope this helps.

I have checked all exterior and interior lights, they all seemed to be OK, still got that light (in red). Any more suggesstions?

Wiggle the lights on the side that is indicated. My rear tail warning came on, and I just had to wiggle the light to get the indicator to turn off. However, I did replace the bulb when it happened again, and since then, have had no problems at all.

I would suggest replacing the fogs and headlights on the side indicated, it really isnt hard. If it turns out the indicator doesnt turn off, then you know thats not the problem and you will have bulbs for when your lights do eventually wear out.

If you cant get the indicator to turn off, i believe you will have to take it to the stealership and have them reset your OBC indicators.
