well bro its true you are in a bmw forum so i think most ppl would say the 330i but i understand you bro i also came from a honda background, i love the power bimmers provide and i found out that bmw and honda are almost the same.. as far as how pricey parts can be...well lets just say they do cost a lil more... just my two cents
I will say that I don't feel that BMW's are as reliable as Honda/Acura. However, if you stay on top of your stuff and take care of all the regular maintenance items, there is no reason you should ever break down in the middle of nowhere. It takes attention to detail, and it does cost a good deal of money, but I don't care.

I haven't read any of this thread, but I thought I would jump in completely blind as to what is going on here. Is there ever really a question between BMW or Acura? I mean...really, c'mon.

Exactly where I am coming from. Well, I would say that there really aren't many choices if you want fun to drive, front engine, rwd, and a manual transmission.
I know that Infiniti is making some pretty nifty cars these days -- heck, even the new LExus IS looks pretty neat -- but they are still out of my price range. So, in the used car market, BMW is the one for me.
You think I don't wish I could find a car I like that costs less to maintain? But one shouldn't look at BMWs when looking for low cost of ownership.
Hello, everyone. I have a decision to make and I was wondering if you guys can help me out. I thinking of buying a 2001-2 330i 4dr or a 2004 Acura TSX. The thing is I don't know how reliable BMW's are. Do you find parts expensive, alot of electrical problems,or are they difficult to fix. I've never worked on a BMW. I am sort of leaning toward the TSX because I'm a tech for Honda. I can get parts for cheap, and they are easy to fix, but I really like the power and handling of the 330i. I don't know what to do...Please help....
Not to be totally bias, but this is a BMW forum & we love our Bimmers......so I can't see how you are going to get fair feedback ......now if this was an exotic sports car forum, then I could see you getting some fair feedback.....so with that!
I think I can be fair. I agreed that BMW's aren't as reliable as the Japanese competitors. They are more finicky, but most people who like cars for how they drive don't mind putting up with the divas that BMWs can be.
