I am hoping that someone may have some sound suggestion. About a week ago, the power locks stopped working on my 2000 BMW 328ci. I then used the manual key lock and it worked for a few days. Now I cannot even lock the doors with the key. Additionally I noticed that the windows now do not automatically go all the way down or up with one pull/push of the lever. Can anyone suggest the possible culprit? All fuses in the fuse panel look to be goood. Thank you for any sound advice that you may have.
328ci locks stopped working - - may not be the keyfob
Hello marti,
Thank you for your reply. Since the trunk opener still works from the keyfob and the center console lock button does not work (neither does locking it by key), I am thinking it is not as simple as a keyfob battery. Any other suggestions?
I tryed your suggestion of the battery to no avail. On the web I saw where the G5 general module may be faulty. The post said the module is white and is located behind the glove box. I am going to see if it is evident in looking behind the glove box, and determine whether this is a do it yourself fix or not. Are you familiar with a reliable inexpensive place to get this general module? Thank you for any direction that you may have.
Yea c/locking relay,If you can get the relay out , which you can, as they can, there will be a part number on it, with that you will be able to get a new one from BM, I dont know where you are in the world, but I can get things in the UK quite cheap.

I stepped in a plate of Pasta the other day - now I have to worry about my Carbonara footprint!
Hello it is more than likely the General module if it is a GIV (G4) then it is black if it is a G5 it is white there are relays in it that go bad but i have found it much easier to replace the whole module. Would like to hear the solution to your problem..... Thank you Also I would like to know how to get a hold of guy from Uk..... would love to see if he could help me get parts? Thank you in advance
