Hi i have a bmw 316 2002....one day the indicators in the car stop showing when i was indicating and the door displays dnt come up any more...the buttons on the stering wheel dont work any more either. the air con had stop working and the cd player does not come on it only goes to radio or tape...
had it the dio test done and it came back as the instrument cluster was faulty went to have it tested by someone else and he fitted a new one and it was still showing the same faults so its not the instrument cluster....does any know what they may think or if anyone has had this problem pls???? thnks!!!!!
thnks for your replies....nope 2002 is not under waranty as far as i know....
going to try and change the ingition switch as see if that cures it if know i really dont know...pls keep your thoughts coming in as i just dont know what to do thnks
Ok, if those had happened you could almost guarantee faulty ign. switch. Just because they didnt doesnt mean it is OK. All of your other symptoms point to either a faulty ign swich or a problem on the K bus. You could either take it someplace and have it diagnosed or if you want to take a guess, ign. switch is not too expensive. Its up to you.
ok thnks i thnk i may try the ingition switch as it not really an expensive job....the problem is that it already been in for a diagnostic check and that when it came up as instrument cluster but took that dwn to be repaired as getting a new one was too expensive and when he put in the new one as a loan it still had the same problem so he said it wasnt that he then did a self test on the instrument cluster and it was showing that it was working.....thanks so much though for your advice
