BMW 2000 323 CI

Hey all, I am a first time BMW owner and had a few questions. I bought the car on Saturday in Baltimore.

A few questions:

1. Can you get a performance chip put into the car? Again I own a 2000 323 CI automatic.

2. Where can I get decent floor mats?

3. Alarm doesn't seem to be working. (Red light under rear view mirror doesn't work)

For 323, you could go the DINAN route, and do both the Engine and the Transmission software for your steptronic.

Or you could go with the Shark Injector, which many 323 and 328ers have, it has proven and reliable gains, and it can be taken off the car in 5 minutes, in the case that the car needs to be checked for a problem at the dealer.

the DINAN might run you 700 in total for both software downloads, the Shark is only 300, and you can take it on and off the car at your discression, i would probably go with the Shark, i hear it kicks ass and i wish they made it for the 325

As for floor mats, Dealer will have them... Circle and Pacific BMW offer the best OEM part prices, try www.circlebmw.com/

and as for alarm, all cars have the "clown nose" under the mirror, but the Alarm is a dealer installed option, that you must purchase separately from the car.

Shark...where can I purchase and is there a specific model??

Alarm...so what you are saying is that the original owner may not have purchased the alarm option? Do you think I should have the dealer install it or just buy a non BMW alarm?

yes, it is possible that the alarm system was not bought from the previous owner.

pacificbmw.com or circlebmw.com have the best prices on the alarm system if you choose to go with the factory alarm. another good alarm system for the bmw's is stellar. you can find that at bavauto.com
