I'm sucessfully using a Motorola v551 Bluetooth enabled phone with my 2005 325i and it's working flawlessly.
Since BMW has not yet supplied any Owners Manuals, it makes it a little difficult to learn how to effectively take advantage of the system. Does anybody know of any ways to pre-program frequently dialed phone numbers into the car's radio preset buttons? I've heard this is possible, but don't know how to do it.
Also, I'd like to know of any other features that might be available that I am not yet taking advantage of.

Hi
What are the benefits of a BT phone being integrated with the car? I am quite new this BT thing.

Benefits for me include being able to talk with both hands on the wheel without having anything stuck in my ear. That's a big one. Also I was able to transfer my phone book into the car. I don't have to fumble with the phone at all while I'm driving. It all comes up on my Navigation screen.
I'm also looking for a manual. I found one on-line but it was only for the stock radio and not for navigation.
This one is somewhat helpful, but a little out of date. It mentions the pairing button. The 2005's do not have this.

What was the procedure you used to pair your phone to your car?
Thanks,

Yes, I have Assist as well. Here are the instructions I used:
I reviewed the above instructions. How do you get the radio to display "Bluetooth pairing"? Do you press one of the buttons on the steering wheel - or is does it automatically detect bluetooth presence?
Also, do you know if the Jabra a210 bluetooth adapter will work with BMW? It is supposed to adapt bluetooth functionality to non-bluetooth cell phones. (for a lot less $$ than buying a new bluetooth phone).

I think I just went into the car's phone menu and then told the handset to search. I don't recall. I have been on so many forums, both for BMW & the Motorola V710 that I've lost track of where I found info.

Really? How come there is no mention of this on the BMW website or anywhere else? I was about to order my 2005 325i without Assist because I heard there was a compatability issue. I know it is "pre-wired for a cell phone" but didnt realize that meant bluetooth.
So every 2005 with Assist has bluetooth standard? Wow, thats great
The forums and the dealer both say that 2005s with assist also have bluetooth. However, as you can probably tell from my posts - I've yet to confirm that. Pressing the sterring wheel button elicits the "ACTIVATE PHONE" message on the radio display. My present phone (Samsung E105) isn't naturally bluetooth compatible, but it is small and I would love to make it work with my new 330 cic. So thanks for the advice.
