i remember seeing somewhere on here a month or so ago. someone said that the only brand you can install that won't void the warranty is dinan. is this correct. and how are their chips im lookin to get one within the next year for my 04 325ci
to reset the car back to its original mode, the shark stores the cars old functions and modes in it, so you do the same thing as installing the shark to uninstall it.

I'm looking to boost some more HP out of my 330Ci. Anyone know what type of chip gives the best results?
Thanks!

Dinan also voids your warranty, but you get a new Dinan warranty. I've read some pretty horrible stories about trying to get Dinan to honor their warranties..
In terms of cost, the Conforti Shark Injector is the cheapest. However.. this is pretty important, I've been reading up a lot and it seems that the many e46 325/330 guys are experiencing pinging because the injector is too aggressive.. conforti is unwilling to do anything.. so people have a $350 paperweight
Dinan software is overly priced for what you get. True you may get the new Dinan warranty.. but if something goes wrong... good luck getting them to honor it.. ALso.. dinan software (stage I and II) does nothing for performance. It's quoted on their site, all they do is increase readline and adjust throttle-by-wire.. otherwise no other performance tuning is done.... personally, I would only go dinan if you were to get stage III software (which requires dinan throttle bottle).. every review i've read.. inlcuding dynos has been positive..
superchips is another option.. but there's been waaay too many negatives for me to trust them.... including the obvious "didn't do jack" to the more scary "$900 in engine repairs" or "car starts up rough or not at all".. also very very expensive..
powerchips is one of the most expensive.. i think all the M5 guys swear buy them... but software is all they do.. so their research and efforts are more focused.. which MAY mean a better product... also.. they have different version depending on the octane level you can get.. it's a more "custom" solution... one problem is finding a distributor.. they're far and few.. but i think you get a 30 day trial.. moneyback guarantee or something... not sure..
there's also Rennsport.. but I think the only way to get software from them is to actually go to them now.. people never returned the cables so they stopped sending out software that way.. i think they've hinted on the use of licensing the shark injector technology to distribute their technik software... if this happens, this is a good one to go too..
finally, there's Active Autoworkes. If you want software now and don't mind sending in our ecu.. then AA tuning has always been good... their software costs $500 i believe.. they're middle of the road expensive..
in my opinion, i would stick to the last 3 I mentioned.. powerchips, rennsport, or aa tuning... (this is for 325/330).. for all e36's and e46 323/328 i would recommend the shark injector...
Best hting i have seen for BMW is POWERCHIP. The reprogram ur car and it turns it into a beast my friend downloaded the software for his 03 M5 and blew the doors off. Its not an actual chip they reprogram ur puter turn everything up on it so u get maz performance and its not detectable.
