bad starting

I have a 320 diesel. It has been slow to start for a while but a few times now the glow plug light has stayed on and it wont start at all. The only way it will start is with jump leads. It is worse oddly when it has been used and warm which is whats confusing. We have checked the battery, fuses and all fine, any suggestions anybody??

I would say you need a new set of glow plugs,as the light stays on for a long time, the one in my 12 yr old van goes out after 3 seconds and starts first time, before I changed them it took ages.
