Auto open/close sunroof problem

I just got a 2001 330ci couple of weeks ago and my sunroof is not operating correctly. The auto open/close function does not seem to work. When I try holding onto the button to open/close it, it does not work. All it does is open/close it a bit. The only way I can open/close the sunroof all the way is to press the button 6-7 times. The same goes with tilting the sunroof. I've also tried using the key on the drivers door to open it. All the windows open; however, i had no luck with the sunroof. Can anyone help? I live more than 200 miles aways from the closest bmw dealers so they are pretty much my last resort.

Do you hear the motor trying to activate with each touch of the switch? If so it would seem the motor is jamming or the switch is going bad...either one is an easy fix.

The motor only responds each time I press the button. Holding onto the button does not do a thing. I'll at ebay for a replacement motor

PM me with your email and ill send you the initialization procedure for the sunroof motor. Its worth a try re-initializing it before buying a new motor or paying for diagnosis.

-press tilt switch for 30 sec.

got a new motor from ebay and fixed it my self all for 16 bucks.

I've order an add-on kit for the car and it'll be on tomorrow. I'll post some pictures after it's done. Does anyone know what might cause the check engine code P0172 and P0175? That was the reading after i got my oil changed.
