on my e46 323i the ashtray cover wont close, its stuck on the
"up" position and you cant push it back down .. anybody know why or
have ideas or a solution?
My compartment above the ashtray does the same fucking thing ghead
I don't know how to fix it but I'm bringing it in to the stealership within a few weeks to get that and a few other things fixed before my warranty runs up. I'll keep you posted if I find out what's wrong.
Where? In the sides, or the bottom....try stick a thin object to lift it out...or lift it from the sides, I think the all come out....keep fiddling with it....you'll get it.
im gunna see if i can find anythin stuck behind or on the sides of it ...
envym3 keep me posted on what happens with your situation .. my warranty
is already up so they would probably over charge me to fix this thats why ive
hesitated to take it to the dealership
same goddamn thing happened just 2 days ago to mine i took the ashtray out to look for something jammed, but i think the closing mechanism is just stuck in so it doesnt "latch" for lack of a better word. pisses me off though
could be a sticky fliud (coffee or coke or something) that is making it stick
redronin .. i also took the ashtray out to look for an object that was not allowing it to close properly, but was unable to find anything. i think i am having the same problem as you but i have never had any drink beside water in my car, so im still unsure of what the problem is
