So, I got out to my brand new (2 days) 330xi this morning, and it looks like somebody bumped my front, right side.
Doesn't look bad - the bumper is detatched a little bit, but it's barely noticable.
What is noticable is the trim - a black strip which runs along the bumper, beneath the headlights on the right hand side - is gone.
Any idea what this part is called? Is it easy to find?
If I take it back to the dealer, it'll cost a fortune, won't it? They'll want to replace the whole bumper? Or is the outside just a cheap "bumper cover" which can be replaced easily?
(errr... the topic should read "My new", not "By new" )

Was it expensive to repair?

If its the Rub strip that runs around the car that you're talking about... BMW can remove that and replace with a new strip. Shouldn't be too expensive. I bet the labor costs more than the replacement strip itself. But yeah, if thats the only part on the car that's damaged ... then its easy to bring it back to perfect condition.

Thanks. I'll take a look.
I'm assuming the outside (what I see as the bumper) is just the bumper cover, then? Can you buy them prepainted?
