Hi. I am about to buy a 2004 model 318ci. I have questions in my mind. I searched the net and some sites say that the new 3 series sedan will be introduced as 2005 models and coupe as 2006 models. Some others say that sedan will be introduced in 2006 and coupe 2007. What is the truth? I would be very happy if anyone could help me. Thanks

i'd say 2006 at the earliest, 2005 would be rushing it, and since the e46 is good selling popular car there should be no reason for bmw to rush its replacement. plus bmw needs to finish the 5 and 6 lines in 2005/6. so bmw will be plenty busy in 2005 already.

AZ325Ci is on a distinguished road
MrM3 is right.

The next 3-series (e90) is scheduled to be released in 2006. Now that can changed at anytime, but don't look for it to be any earlier than 2006.

The e46 came out in 98 as a 99 so usually they are on 7 year runs with the sedan coming out first. Keeping on the same schedule the next 3 will be released in 2005 as a 2006 model. Sedan first, then the coupe later that year. The conv will come out in 2006 and the M the following year. Thats if they keep the schedule the same.
