| Anyone know how to clear an air bag code? Well, hard knocks my friends, hard knocks.
As per my reply on the window regulator thread, I followed the step-by-step procedure on fixing the broken plastic clip that holds the cable to the window rail. However, when I disconnected the airbag, the code was registered as I had to use the window switch to roll the window down while the air bag was dicsonnected, thus sending a false code to the computer.
I was not able to remove the window, and due to bad weather, had to put the door back together withought repairing this problem. Now the airbag light is constantly on on the dash.
Someone posted that the dealer charges like $100 to clear the code! WTF!? I read elsewhere that the codes usually last for 50 start up cycles. If I wait out the 50 cycles with the air bag connected, will the code clear? Or do I really have to shell out $100 to have the dealer hook up a module and push a friggin' button or two?
Any advice would be great (and if you know how to remove this damn bolt on the window rail! The DYI says it's a 10mm, but it's actually smaller than 8mm, but larger than 7mm?! Also, I am worried that I would not be able to get it back it, as it's in very tight quarters---too small for fingers!)
Thanks!
