Any suggestions on how i broke my fan shroud, fan, and radaitor?
Last night i was at the red light and i wanted to play around a little and got on it. And my fan blade come through my hood, radaitor, and shroud. Someone said i may have a broke motor mount.
ooooohhhhhh......from what I have heard on the forums here and on other sites.....fan blades breaking on bimmers are not very common but happen quite too often. Infact i remember seeing someone's avatar here with a torn up engine bay due to a broken fan blade. Whatever you have broken....doesnt seem to be pretty dude. Hope you have not trashed the engine bay and that you have either a good warranty or plenty of benjamins.
Naw its cool, only the fan blade, shroud, radiator, is messed up. Insurance is covering the hood i know for a fact, but there looking into it to fix the rest. If not i priced all the parts for a total of 230.00. My fathers a mechanic so im good there.
Check the fan clutch and make sure it isnt failed and locked up. Usually when a fan goes into the hood its because the fan clutch is locked up. If so when you revved the engine at a stop light the fan was spinning as fast as the engine (several thousand RPMs) and basically flew apart and caused damage along the way.
