I've had a 99 328i and now a 01 330i. On both of these, one or both of the blinkers (currently it's my right front) will go out intermittantly, causing the "fast blink" in my cluster.
Also, turning the radio or cd down from the steering wheel sometimes causes the cd track or radio station to change. This is especially annoying when I'm rocking out.
Both cars have been very solid otherwise.

E: I forgot to mention that when I hit the button forward to close the sunroof, 1 out of 100 times it will close all the way. I have no idea why this is.

the bulbs and sockets need to be replaced (due to scorching marks in the bulb housing common problem on E46) an extremely easy fix.
the controls on the steering wheels have cross-shorted and will have to be replaced (also fairly common) luckily an easy fix.

lastly-the sunroof probably needs to be re-initalized...have done by qualified person

None of these are detrimental problems just minor inconvienences

'03 325i auto

In the shop last month for the fast blinker/burned out bulb and socket problem. Required some new wiring as well, which I haven't seen mentioned. One window regulator has been replaced.

what about noises during start up. Really odd noise. Never heard this before in any other vehicle. It doesn't just happen during any certain conditions either. It happens randomly. It sort of sounds like air being let out of a balloon whilr stretching the tip to make that funny sound. Yet a little more muffled. she has also replaced the battery and the alternator already. It does have relitively higher miles... 78,000. but still that should not effect the charging system all that much. Is her car plagued or what. Thanks for all the info so far peeps. keep it coming. It is really appreciated...

I've seen cars with less mileage replace alt before they just wear out...and battery's are COMMON in BMWs (the thing you have to remember is a BMW has WAY MORE electrical need than alot of other cars) if she replaced the batt with an aftermarket make sure the 1) it has a vent hole 2) the vent tube is hooked up or it will start to rust out the trunk. 78,000 is fairly high in mileage, but there are guys on here that have more mileage than that (mostly in the E36 forum) From what you have told us, your g/fs car sounds to be in good condition (not plagued) Trust me I've seen FAR worse in my bay.

I have 93K miles on mine and my battery is just starting to go. I'm getting the DSC/ABS dash-lights about once a week... usually after it's sat a couple days.

Is that muffled sound coming from the air vents? Under the hood of the car? Just during startup or at other intermittent times too?

Ok, and I still have warranty on the 330i...should all these issues be fixed for the $50 deductible?

Possibly, it really depends on your dealers labor rate...sorry couldn't be more specific.
