Answer to RFT tire problems.

I was considering buying a 335i until I read the horor stories about the run flat tires. I asked a local dealer about the problem and here is his answer. Has the issue really been corrected?

DEALER - "Yes, the issue with the run flat tires has been corrected. When the run flat tires were introduced on the re- designed 3 series for 2006, Bridgestone had numerous batches of bad rubber compound that ended up causing tires to wear unevenly causing loud road noise. This was a huge problem that was corrected by Bridgestone; the customers affected were given new tires."

I seem to recall reading as much about this issue. If you are still not sure, I'd recommend that you ask the dealershp to equip your can with non-runflats for no charge.

If this is the deal, they would have to throw a 5th full size wheel and tire for free, as spare. The RFTs are overpriced but that's the price.
