annoying clunking noise - BMW Forum

had this annoying clunking noise coming from the front of my car when i go over bumps. replaced the right sway bar link and the noise went away... only for about a week and now it is back. could the part be bad already or maybe something with the control arm ie ball joint or bushings? Help my car sounds like shit!!!!

recheck the sway bar link and make sure you torqued it correctly. maybe it came loose. theres a lot of things on the front of your car that can make a noise so its not something easy to diagnose with a keyboard. Best best is to have a buddy help by moving the wheel or doing whatever is needed to duplicate it while you crawl under and try to narrow it down. good luck.

yeah, that is exactly what i did. i took off the link and put it back and took a little more time this time. so far so good.
