amp to non hk stereo

My intention is to wire an after market amp and sub in the trunk. I've found the factory amp on the opposite of the battery in the trunk. I've figure the only way is the cut one of the speaker wire and splice it to an RCA connector. There is a picture of the wire in my vbGarage. Does anyone have any suggestions or have done the same?

Wrong section, but i would just suggest just getting an aftermarket head unit... much easier. If your worried about looks, get an Alpine or something that adjusts to an orange like the lights in the car.

Hey man my intension is not to rattle the whole neighborhood. And yes i am worry about the look. I splice the the rear left/right speaker wires and connected it too the SVEN2 converter. It works just fine. I am powering a 10' JL.

I am in the process of getting everything together to install in my car.

So far I have a boston 12" inch sub, Eclipse 5 channel amp, Alpine type X compeonts, 36sq of dynamat extreme, and an Eclipse CD7000 single din GPS Nav unit. I want factory look but have decided the easiest route is to rewire the car for my application. If you want to amp the speakers and the sub, you will need to cut the wires and bypass the factory amp. If you just want to amp the sub, then use a rca converter and tap the rear speaker wires. If you need a wiring diagram, search the audio forum. I needed one and there is a link to it somewhere in that area.
