Airbag Light - BMW Forum

Hello all,
I worked through posts to find how to fix my exterior passenger door handle and successfully completed it. While working on the car, I removed the airbag on the passenger side so I had room and now the Airbag light is on. Will it reset itself or do i need to now take it someplace for the light to be reset? This poor car was so abused for its first 80K miles, I will be doing small tasks for the rest of my life, but it is the car that I have wanted for a long time, just newer than I thought I would have purchased.Please advise,

did you remove the passenger airbag and turn the key on at all? If you didn't turn the key then the light shouldn't come on. If that is the case then yes you will need to get it reset.

doesn't matter if you put the key in or not while the airbag was out, the light will come on regardless. It needs to be reset.

I did turn the key on as I had to put the car back in the garage as the storms were coming through. Thank you all for your thoughts. I will get it reset this week.
