ADVICE whats wrong???

Hi..

I have a 2003 318i 2ltr petrol coupe....couple of problems at the moment im hearing head gasket but before i pay out for a big job like that i want to make sure its not something else....

Problems

-No hot air blowing
-using over 2 ltrs of water in the coolant every day
-coolant warning light comes on even if i have just topped it up
-temp gage goes into the red but can go back to normal very fast

no sign of milky white stuff on the rad cap or oil cap + no sign of a leak and no sign of oil in the water and i have seen a very little bit of white smoke from the exaust but very rare...

help???

thanks

You need to get a compression test done. That will tell you for sure if the head gasket is blown.

Something is definitley very wrong if your loosing 2 Litres of coolant a day and your overheating.
