is there any way to get a new 7 series key ( the one where the key flips out) to work with an e46 sedan?

it would be awesome. but i don't think it'll work. the chip inside the key may not be compatible to the e46's, but i could be wrong.

hope you don't mind, i fixed the link for you. i had trouble getting to it.

from what i understand, no it won't work because that's a radio remote control. the e46's uses an ignition key.

He was asking about the flip out key. and god forsake me, but ...omg.... VW bettle and jetta have this key. the 7 does not flip out, but rather has a pull out valet key. I believe the flip out key is doable and easily, just inquire at local shops if that is what you are looking for.

Doesn't the E46 key has an ignition enable chip inside like the audi & vw that makes it kinda hard to do ?
