driving a 2002 330 ci and I have a few questions?
thanks for any help...
Does anyone know the specific of the 60,000 services?
how much should I expect to pay?
is it the Inspection II?
also, my seatbelt pretentioner keeps on breaking (twice in a year)
is this normal?
the airbag light comes on when this happens, do you know if that means the airbag is disabled?
My window is only coming down about 3 inches then makes a nasty scrathcy sounds and stop...
any clue on what's wrong ? motor?
The car is amazing to drive, but all the accessories keep failing.
I have been to the dealer more often for small repairs than regular maintenances..
(xenon light fell out, door rubber triming fell 3 times, seat belt pretentioner broke twice, trunk soleinoid broke, passenger door wouldn't open,......)
For an inspection II I paid a little over $300 at a dealer. It seems that about $700 is the going rate though from a dealer. Window regulators have been a problem and that might be your problem. It seems weird that the seatbelt pretensioner would go out so often. Check the manual on the airbag light though.

Inspection II is the 60,000 mi. one. Cost depends on who does the inspection and what is needed. I was quoted about $550 at the dealer and it came in at $535 including a new fuel filter. I wasn't expecting it to be LESS than $550. LOL

The pretensioner is part of the Safety system that is monitored by the MRS control module...so of course when something happens to the pretensioner it is going to kick the "airbag" light on. as for the window problem. Sounds like a window regulator...really typical. Also at 60,000 miles that would be an Inspection II to answer your last question.
It seems that Electronic minor problems will occur in BMW.
Mine 2004 318i, I purchased it for my birthday gift in November, around 3 month until now. From two week ago, the central lock has ocurrance jammed. I put back to dealer today and let them fix it.
I have another friend, he has minor problems in 2002 320i:
1) Back mirror does not spring out and jammed
2) Gear box locked in No.3
Another guy has similar electronic problems in the first year:
1) leakage coolant of air-conditionor
2) window mechanic jammed
3) abnormal noise from suspension piston
But some guys will comment the Ci model was made in Germany and it will have better quality control than iA model.
