Just got my 2000 3'er and the dealership I bought it from took it to a "quick" lube place for the oil change. Should I run to a BMW dealer and get an oil changed witht he full synthetic. Any tips and advice?? Car has also been getting great gas mileage on regular 87 octane. Should I be using Premium?
Personally I would recommend a full synthetic like Mobil 1. The weight of oil you use is kind of determined by the climate you live in and your driving style. Bmw recommends 91 octane or higher for best performance and mpg. It also keeps your car from pre-detonation.
thanks for the help. I'm a fan of Mobil 1, so I think I'll go that way. Switched to premium gas too and that has helped a lot. Much better performance.
