330xi making creaking sounds - BMW Forum

Hi all,
I'm new to the site and pretty new to the world of BMW. Currently I purchased a 2005 330xi with 50,000 on it. What an awesome car! The other day I noticed a creak coming from what I thought was the driver's seat, thought an easy fix I'll just tighten the bolts. Today I noticed the creak getting louder and discovered the sound is coming from either underneath the engine or somewhere else, sounds pretty centered and low. I can acheive this sound when I come to a stop, excelerate from a stop, or slowly go over speed bumps. Any ideas what may be causing this? Can I drive a few days beforehaveing the issue fixed?

a "creak" if you described it accurately doesn't come from the engine... but rather from the chassis/unibody or suspension parts.

kinda hard to diagnose remotely bcz i have to rely on the accuracy of ur description... which i may or may not interpret correctly.

Best way is to have a friend with a good ear listen as you move slowly through a bump... u will be able to pinpoint better ;-)
