Hi, am interested if anyone else has this problem or ideas about solution. Since new the car would die when I tried to parallel park. It would run fine at low rpms until I touched the accelerator, then it would instantly die. Didn't happen if I was taking off from a stop, as I would be able to give it enough gas to keep it running. Also would happen if stopped on a hill, I'd let the clutch out and it would die, because i couldn't give it enough gas to take off fast. If I did the clutch would smell because I was burning it. I have to use the emergency brake like was 16 again. I called dealer who said it was probably because AWD has 2 differentials and if they are off sync, it would cause a rough takeoff and stall. Said it couldn't be fixed. I just had 1st oil change and told them of problem again, was able to duplicate it easily, they reprogrammed the computer. It is better, doesn't stall as easily when parking, but still, when I stop and leave the car parked, then restart (this only happens when the car is warmed up, never when first starting in a.m.) and try to back out of a spot, it bucks and lurches, like it wants to die, but doesn't. I hate looking like a teen trying to learn to drive a clutch, but that's how it behaves. Only when warm. I will take back to dealer, but would like to know if this is typical behavior for xi? What should I insist the dealer do? Thanks for any suggestions. |
