325 vs. 330 series

I had a '90 325is and I loved it but sold it about 5 years ago. I'm now thinking about picking up a second car and I'm looking at a 2001-2002 3 series. I seem to notice a lot of 330s going for a couple thousand less than the 325s. Even the 330xi seems to be less expensive. Given the bigger engine in the 330 and AWD on the 330x model I would think they would cost more. Am I missing something? Any ideas why this might be?

haha... i don't know where you live man.. but in vancouver its a lot more expensive for a 330 over a 325.

Uhhh, new 330's start at 36k, I can't imagine the older ones being more expensive. I don't think they chop down the price on the 330 just because it's slow =P

I recently snapped up an `01 and the dealer said he had many calls about that car after I bought it. 325xi 5-speeds aren't very common around here and people want the 325's because they are about $3k cheaper than the 330's.

I am not sure if yure looking at the right hind dude....I mean I had beens shopping around for Bemers for a whole year ebfore I found a right deal in my 2001 325xi....but never ever did I see a 330 xi or 330i cheaper than a 325 (year and mileage matched ofcourse). If you see a 330 selling for less than a 325 with same specifications I would stay aways from it cause sumthings wrong.......except if the owner is wearing a sign that sez...."Screw me".

I just bought a 2003 330xi with almost every option for a little less than the dealer was asking for a moderately equipped 325xi. With only 16k miles and the balance of the warranty remaining, I'm really happy with it. That said, used 330s are going for $3-5k more than comparably used 325s in this market, an AWD models are pretty thin as we approach winter...

Hye just picked a 2004 330i performance package i broke the car in has 1200 miles on it ans just took it up to 150 mph. Anyone who says thta cars slow is seriously smoking sumthing. The only thing is it loves gas but other thna that get a 330 its more enjoyable

either.. something's wrong witht he 330 or the owner whos selling them is stupid cuz 330s.. are jus like 325's with more powerful engines to sorta say?

Last month I bought a new 2004 325xi. The 2004 330xi was $5,000 more than the 325xi I bought. I would have preferred the 330xi with it's more powerful engine but for $5,000 I didn't feel it was necessary.
