325 Braking - BMW Forum

Hi,
I am in the process of buying privately a 2002 325 convertible.
the car has 50K miles and auto trans. The car drives great, but I noticed that (during the test drive) the braking seemed to have an odd characteristic. It seemed that as the car slowed down something in the transmission (or elsewhere) seemed to disengage. It didn't seem like a problem but it surprised me. The owner said that it was typical of the 3 series. Any thoughts anyone?

Hey,

I think i know what noise your talking about. When I brake really hard i hear this odd noise as if something is about to brake down, but my mechanic told me its normal. In the sence taht its the ABS kicking in. The ABS system is pretty much right in front of you under the hood. I still don't think its a normal noise but it is.
