Woobiee and I were having a discussion about how fast his car accelerates. He claims 6.7, for his 170hp, 181lb-ft of torque 323Ci. Hes saying the fastest is 6.7. Imo there is NO way that his car can equal the acceleration of my brothers automatic 330i. Stick cant overcome 55hp and 43lb-ft of torque. Woobiee said he also killed an IS300 with his 323Ci.....what do you guys think a 323 could do 0-60. Im saying low 7's....(7.2ish)
do they both have the same 6000 rpm redline? if they do, then the 323 and 325 should accelerate basically the same, depending on the driver. but i don't think it can do 6.7, what does the 330 do it in. 6.4??

the 330 manual can do like 6.0 or 5.9...motortrend got the auto to 6.7, though if the manual can do it that quickly, im sure the auto could be a 10th or so lower...

no way. 40hp can't make the car do it a second quicker than the 325. that's too big of a difference. that's faster than a G35 which has more hp and more torque

yea i have a hard time believe it either...but a 330Ci coupe can do 0-60 in 6.1...a 330Xi can do it in 5.8 or 5.9 according to MT....i see no way, but they do?
car and driver got a 330xi to do 5.7 and a Ci to do 5.8. for a 323, i'd say 7 flat becuase the brochure stated 7.1. but it wouldnt suprise me at all if woobiees car could do 6.7 if the conditions were right. i once saw a chipped 318 do 7.8.
honestly i think in a perfect situation.... (though i dont know the exact time for my car since i havent tried it yet) the slowest for a 0-60 run would be 7.1. But i truely think I can pull at the high 6s

I think high 6's is possible, there is a lot more that plays factor then just HP and Torque....such as gearing, weight, driver, conditions, tires, etc etc etc. In the right conditions with the right launch etc etc I think high 6's is possible.
at at grips with this. my car runs mid to high 6's and i have a little more power than woobies car. however sometimes you can be proven wrong. i have to agree with speedster on this one 6.7 seems like a stretch i think 6.9-7.0 is more realistic.

maybe on a slight downhill.
A stock 323 should do the 0-60 sprint in the mid to low 7s. It's a porky car, and it's down on power. Now with the basics, the mid to high 6s aren't unreasonable, just ask L337.
Edit: Got Car and Driver's opinion on this:
60 mph. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .7.8
That's for the 2000 323Ci Vert, so chop off .6 seconds for the added weight, and we're in the right ballpark. mid to low 7s
