318i E46

hi guys

glad to see there is other help out there

please help me with the questions i have just got a 318i e46 2000 model and am lost

1. my tempreture guage on the high way goes close to the cold mark and in traffice goes to half but never anymore i was told this is the thermostate but is it bad to drive a car like this
2.the interior fan stop working one day and i was told it is the final stage fan resistor great R1800 south african rands to fix next morning it worked fine and seems to be ok
3.how do you know when it is time to sevice the car my old 318 e36 had the lights but this one has kilometer on it but is says" oil change 2600" does this mean oil change has passed 2600km ago or i still have 2600 km to go

in the US there was no 318 e46...

its never a bad thing if your temperature gauge is "cold" but strange it would show that on the highway

we have to in south africa as the cost of a vechile is threw the roof

tell me if it runs cold can it cause damage

3. "Oil Change 2600" means you have 2600 km to go before requiring an oil change. The number reflects a mileage countdown.

When you reach the 2600 mark, it will start displaying negative numbers, i.e. "Oil Change -10" which means its 10 km past due for your Oil Change.
